Psychotherapist/Occupational Therapist
I strongly believe that a person is the expert in their own life, and for this reason I collaborate with people to set realistic goals for therapy. Together we can come up with a personalised plan to help you use the skills that you have and develop new ones to make positive changes.
I enjoy working with adolescents, young people, and adults. Over the past 15 years, I have worked across both public and private mental health settings and provided both 1:1 and group-based treatments. I have experience in providing mental health interventions to Neurodivergent people and enjoy working with Autistic people, ADHDers, their families and support networks. In my Occupational Therapy (OT) practice I aim to utilise a Neurodiversity Affirming approach to assessment and intervention, and am committed to developing my skills further in this area by Iearning directly from people with lived experience. I am also skilled in the treatment of symptoms of anxiety, depression and psychosis.
Whatever your goals are, I can use a range of therapies and skills to support you. I’m an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist with training in multiple areas. If learning about relationships and connecting with others are what you want to focus on; I prefer to utilise relational therapies such as Cognitive Analytic Therapy. I’m also experienced in providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Sensory Modulation treatments.
In therapy, I want you to feel comfortable and I take a warm and friendly approach. My ultimate aim as an OT is for you to be able to do the things that you need and want to be able to do in life. I will take a practical approach to work with you so that you can take the skills that you have learnt in the therapy room and put them into action in the real world.
