Rachel Kleinman

Clinical Counsellor / Grief & Loss Therapist

I believe that a safe, supportive space in therapy allows for exploration of life struggles, painful experiences (including bereavement) and relationship issues. This can create the powerful potential for healing and change in people’s lives.

I utilise warmth, curiosity and compassion to help people understand their relationships with themselves, other people and the world around them. I am experienced in providing counselling during life stages, transitions and adjustments that may trigger anxiety, grief or low mood. These include the death or illness of a loved one, relationship changes and breakdown, complex trauma history or family estrangement, among others.

I have specialist experience in supporting parents and siblings through perinatal bereavement, as well as the death of an older baby or child.

I have the following accreditations:

– Registered Clinical Counsellor (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia)

– Specialist Couples Therapist (Relationships Australia)

– Certified Bereavement Practitioner (Grief Australia)

– Working with complicated grief (Griefline Australia)

– Perinatal bereavement counselling (Perinatal Loss Centre)

I am a registered counsellor with WorkCover in Victoria and can also provide counselling to self managed or plan managed NDIS participants. Private health rebates are approved for BUPA, Medibank, ahm, HCF, Teachers Health and ARHG (Police Health, St Luke’s Health, CUA Health, Phoenix Health Fund, Emergency Services Health).
